Emergency Dental Care

At Martin Dentistry we understand that emergencies happen. Please call our office and we will serve you to the best of our ability.  If it’s an after hours emergency call our office and our phone service will relay your message to our experienced and compassionate team of dental professionals.

 

Dental Emergencies During Office Hours

If you are experiencing a dental emergency during regular office hours, call our office at (651) 714-1642. We will do our best to see you as soon as possible, and help you resolve your dental pain.

 

After Hours Emergency Dental Care

If you are experiencing a dental emergency when our office is closed, we have an on-call dentist for your after-hour dental needs. In any emergency dental situation, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Call (651) 714-1642 and we will help to triage your situation and get you the help you need.

 

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, dial 911 for immediate medical help, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

 

Helpful Tips During A Dental Emergency

To be as prepared as possible for a dental emergency, we provide some tips below for specific types of dental crises that you can do before you are able to see our XDental dentist:

 

Toothache

Taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen as directed (if you are not allergic) can help alleviate pain.

 

Mouth Sore

Applying an over-the-counter medicine, like Orajel, may reduce the pain.

 

Bleeding After An Extraction

If your bleeding is substantial, place a thick gauze pad over the extraction site and apply pressure. If bleeding continues, soak a tea bag in water, put it inside a thin gauze pad, and apply pressure for 30 minutes.

 

Bitten Tongue Or Lip

Apply ice or pressure to the area to decrease the swelling or bleeding. If your laceration is deep (larger than ¼ inch) or if the pain persists, please call our office for immediate care.

 

Fractured Tooth

Place a piece of soft wax where the chipped area is, and then schedule an appointment with us.

 

Tooth Knocked Out

Do NOT touch root of tooth if possible.  Place in milk, saline or water, or area between teeth and cheek. Call the office immediately.

 

Fractured Jaw

Do not move your jaw and seek immediate medical help at your nearest hospital emergency room.
